For products with complex shapes, metal pressing design workplaces have been facing the issue of being dependent on the ability to apply multiple viewpoints and the design know-how acquired by veteran engineers through years of experience. We therefore distilled the thought process and decision-making rule base used by veteran engineers into a database, making it possible to automatically analyze, extract, and describe the feasibility of a product and its points of concern simply by uploading a 3D model. Our newly developed technology simultaneously results in shortening the design process, enhancing productivity, securing veteran engineer work hours, and supporting the training of younger engineers while further advancing their technical ability.
